Unique matches Agnès Rosse is a visual artist who graduated from the Strasbourg School of Decorative Arts. She uses the reality surrounding her to stick to the present, matching the world and honoring it in her own way with the commitment of an artist and a poet. For several years, the artist has made unique matches in several national factories in the countries she visited. She harvested raw material (wood or cardboard) during her trips before producing object in the factory. Every single cardboard, piece of wood, and bamboo was pre-cut and soaked in the red tip bath. The silk-screened images on the cardboard, alongside the essence from the different wood pieces create a set evoking at the same time the industrial iconography of the country, the action of travelling, and the fire. These match-objects are ultimately an allegory of the act of consumption.
